About Us

Holiday World of Dallas has a history rich in tradition...from its humble beginnings as a small RV lot over 40 years ago until now, a large modern RV dealership that takes on the personna of its owner Jim Anderson.

Anderson, a native of Dallas, Texas, attended Bryan Adams High and East Texas State University. He then served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharge in 1970. Sears provided an opportunity for management training after the navy, and he spent five years learning the retail industry and eventually moved into automotive dealerships management for sixteen years. His experience in automotive management eventually led to being part owner of a ford dealership. In 1992, he became the general manager of Holiday World in Mesquite, Texas - one of 14 RV dealerships then owned by Harley Davidson.

With no RV experience, Anderson had to rely on his background in automotive and retail management. "I felt my automotive experience and retail merchandising experience would help me in this position. I used my automotive background for sales, service and finance and my Sears background for merchandising the parts store. I went to rallys, visited with RVers constantly and quickly learned the business" Anderson explained.

Monaco Corporation bought Holiday Rambler from Harley Davidson in May of 1996 and proceeded to sell the Holiday World chain of stores nationally. Anderson submitted an offer to Monaco to purchase the Mesquite, Texas Holiday World store and has worked vigorously to improve many facets of the operations of the dealership since the purchase.

Some of the improvements Anderson implemented include technician training programs, state-of-the art paint booth and body shop and computerization of the dealership for better connectivity between all departments. These changes have not gone unnoticed by manufacturers as Holiday Rambler has awarded Holiday World the prestigious Top 10 Dealer award for excellence in customer sales and service for the last 10 years.

Customers are not only delighted by the sales and service aspects of Holiday World of Dallas, but the ever expanding inventory as well. Holiday World now carries motor homes by Holiday Rambler, and Four Winds as well as towables by Holiday Rambler, Thor, Thor California, Dutchmen Skamper & R-Vision. "At Holiday World of Dallas we want to provide a wide variety of RV's for our customers to choose from," Anderson quipped. "The better our selection, the more capable we are of satisfying all of our customers' needs."

Driven by determination to improve inventory, maintain a high level of excellence in sales and service not to mention customer satisfaction, Anderson stated, "We're only good or bad by comparison. We're not where we want to be yet, so we will work at it every day." For Jim Anderson, it's all in a day's work.
